\"\"Each fall, the alumni association considers bestowing the title of honorary \u00a0alumnus on individuals who have been nominated because of their service, loyalty and devotion to\u00a0Clemson and\/or the Alumni Association. This year, the Alumni Association honored JoVanna King\u00a0and Frank Inabnit III. While neither has crossed the stage to receive a Clemson diploma, their\u00a0lives and actions demonstrate that their blood runs orange.
\nKing is senior director of estate planning and principal gifts at Clemson. For more than 25\u00a0years she has raised money to support the University. She has worked on all three of Clemson\u2019s\u00a0capital campaigns including the recently completed Will to Lead campaign, which raised more\u00a0than $1 billion. According to Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations Brian\u00a0O\u2019Rourke, King has been involved in raising more philanthropic dollars than any other employee\u00a0of the University. According to President Emeritus Jim Barker, the dollars don\u2019t tell the whole\u00a0story. \u201cThe dollars\u00a0are impressive,\u201d\u00a0he wrote in his\u00a0nomination letter,\u00a0\u201cbut it is the lives\u00a0of Clemson students\u00a0and faculty that\u00a0motivate her.\u201d
\n\"\"Inabnit,\u00a0a resident of\u00a0Jacksonville,\u00a0Florida, is retired\u00a0after a career in\u00a0electrical drafting\u00a0and programming.\u00a0The son of a 1941\u00a0alumnus, he was\u00a0born deaf andwas unable to attend Clemson. \u201cHe has spent his entire life in a silent world,\u201d wrote his sister,\u00a0Catherine Inabnit, in her nomination. \u201cHe has never heard the word \u2018Clemson.\u2019 He\u2019s never heard\u00a0the \u2018Tiger Rag\u2019 or the Clemson Alma Mater, but Clemson has been a very important part of his life\u00a0and occupies a large and special place in his heart.\u201d
\nA loyal IPTAY member for 45 years, Inabnit has served as an IPTAY representative and has\u00a0contributed to the Alumni Association for more than 25 years.
