\"\"Clemson Alumni and affinity groups have been busy welcoming students to the Clemson Family,\u00a0hosting events, holding networking events for students and alumni, and watching football. Here\u2019s\u00a0just a sampling of the recent activities around the country:
\nThe ARIZONA CLEMSON CLUB<\/a> and N.C. State Wolfpack\u00a0Alumni held a joint football party to watch the Tigers take\u00a0on the Wolfpack and used the event to provide service to the\u00a0local community by asking alumni to bring a donation to the\u00a0St. Mary\u2019s Food Bank. Approximately 30 Clemson alumni\u00a0attended; the two clubs collected a total of 114 pounds of\u00a0food.
\n\"\"The\u00a0HOUSTON\u00a0CLEMSON\u00a0CLUB<\/a>\u00a0hosted a luncheon in October featuring President Jim\u00a0Clements and his wife Beth. Approximately 75 alumni,\u00a0supporters and parents of current students attended the\u00a0luncheon. The Houston Club also hosted a Student Send-Off in August.
\nEvery year, the GREATER ORLANDO CLEMSON CLUB<\/a> participates in an alumni event called Feast on the\u00a050 at Camping World Stadium, where active alumni groups from a variety of colleges compete for the most\u00a0spirited tent. This year, the Orlando Club won the competition, reports President Thomas Harvell. He credits\u00a0the hard work of Meg Ramis, Christie Hyde\u00a0DeNave, Cheryl Mellin and others. The Orlando\u00a0Club also hosted a Student Send-Off in August.
\n\"\"During Homecoming weekend, the CLEMSON\u00a0BLACK ALUMNI COUNCIL <\/a>(CBAC) hosted the\u00a0Minority Student Success Initiative. During\u00a0a panel discussion, alumni shared stories,\u00a0tips and advice with more than 90 students\u00a0on how to succeed both within the University\u00a0and in the workforce. A networking event\u00a0provided opportunities for students, alumni and\u00a0employers to make valuable connections. The\u00a0annual CBAC Homecoming tailgate at Carillon\u00a0Gardens rounded out the weekend, welcoming\u00a0more than 600 alumni back to campus.
\n\"\"The YORK COUNTY CLEMSON<\/a> CLUB hosted a Student Send-Off for more than 100 students, hosted by\u00a0Roger and Cathy Troutman. About 90 alumni, parents and students were in attendance at the SPARTANBURG\u00a0CLEMSON CLUB\u2019S<\/a> Student Send-Off, the largest send-off for the club in recent years. Clemson Clubs hosted\u00a0a record number of more than 35 Student Send-Offs across the country to welcome new students to the\u00a0Clemson Family.
