As a pro bass fisherman, Cobb has found the best of both worlds.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Brandon Cobb lives in his\u00a0hometown of Greenwood, South Carolina, where he developed his love for fishing early on. \u201cEver since I was 6 or 7 years old, I\u2019ve always wanted to fish,\u201d he says. \u201cI didn\u2019t know exactly what being a pro entailed, but it was always a dream of mine.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">He came to Clemson with the intent <span class=\"s1\">of becoming an engineer but soon realized that he wanted to pursue some<\/span>thing different \u2014 something he loved.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cDuring my freshman year, I discovered wildlife biology and fisheries and realized that was something more up my alley,\u201d Cobb says. \u201cEngineering would have been a great job, but it wasn\u2019t what I loved to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Joining Clemson\u2019s bass fishing team provided Cobb with valuable experience competing against other universities and a taste of the professional circuit.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">After graduating, Cobb drew from his experiences in smaller fishing tournaments during college to make his pro debut and gradually moved up the ladder in the professional fishing community. In his five years on the <span class=\"s2\">Fishing League Worldwide tour, Cobb has achieved 32 top-10 finishes and two <\/span>tournament wins.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">While the casual fisherman might think pros have an easy job, it requires hard work and dedication. Cobb wouldn\u2019t have it any other way.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\u201cIt\u2019s still a job,\u201d he says. \u201cWhen you get to the level I\u2019m at, it is definitely more work than just going fishing. It is still the best job I could ever have; there\u2019s never a bad day on the job.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">In production for this issue, <i>Clemson World <\/i>learned that Cobb won the Bassmaster Elite Series at Lake <span class=\"s1\">Hartwell on April 7, 2019.
