John Cline ’69 and his wife Janice Turner Cline visiting the Grand Canyon in celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary, watching their Tigers play in (and win) the National Championship on the same trip.
On the way to the National Championship, Bill ’81 and Diane Boyle Carnes ’81 took the time to enjoy the Grand Canyon, with lots of other orange-clad fans.
After such an incredible football season, we knew we had to make the journey out to Phoenix to see our Tigers play for the National Championship. We couldn’t pass up the drive to the awe-inspiring Grand Canyon during our time there. The view speaks for itself and singing the Cadence Count with surrounding Clemson fans while overlooking the Canyon is a memory we are all sure to never forget.

The Metzgers traveled to Phoenix, Arizona to cheer on our Clemson Tigers at the National Championship! On the way we had to stop by the Grand Canyon — after all National title…National Monument, it just goes together. Along with many others, we donned our Clemson Orange to witness one of the great world wonders, and although the game didn’t have the outcome we hoped for the Clemson Spirit was strong!
