In July 2023, Rubén Antonio Martínez ’20 traveled to Boaco, Nicaragua, with his father. “It was a lifelong dream of mine to visit Boaco as it was the town that my father immigrated from in January 1981,” Rubén said. “My [family] would cultivate coffee and travel by mule and horse to the Nicaraguan capital of Managua to sell it. It would take about a week just to get there one way!”
