Basketball was one of four teams introduced in 1975–1976 when Clemson University began sponsoring a varsity women’s sports program. Led by Mary Kennerty ’73, M ’77 — who also served as the women’s head tennis coach from 1976–1982 — the Tigers finished 14-11 in their inaugural season.
