Summertime town-gown street festival infuses downtown Clemson with school-year energy
“On the Ave” is one of Clemson’s newest and most popular outdoor offerings, hosted during summer in partnership with the city of Clemson and Clemson University’s Brooks Center for the Performing Arts.
Held weekly from 5:30–9 p.m. on Tuesdays, the street festival provides a unique opportunity for students, visitors and the local community to gather, enjoy live music on a warm summer evening, and explore the vibrant food and beverage offerings of downtown Clemson, along with lawn games, family activities and ample outdoor seating.
“This event has become a seasonal staple, providing a platform for local businesses and artists to thrive,” said Clemson Mayor Robert Halfacre.
Now in its fourth year, “On the Ave” kicks off in May and runs through June, with rain dates sometimes extending into July. The event, which blocks off College Avenue at the traffic light at Highway 93 (adjacent to Bowman Field), has quickly become a beloved tradition, uniting the community through music, family games and activities, and the Clemson spirit.
“The partnership between the city of Clemson and the Brooks Center has been wonderful,” said outgoing Brooks Center Executive Director Janice Crews. “We are proud to support local musical artists and play a role in creating a vibrant and thriving Clemson.”
