Before Dabo Swinney became Clemson’s all-time winningest football coach, the longtime leader in head coaching wins for the program was Frank Howard, who won 165 from 1940–69. This rare archival photo is a celebration after Howard’s 163rd win as the Tigers’ head coach, a 21-10 victory against Georgia Tech played at Grant Field in Atlanta.
